Maximum environmental compatibility is one of the most important demands that customers place on Dürr production systems. For this reason the conservation of resources and reduction of emissions are two of the most important criteria for our product development. For example in paint systems Dürr has optimized all processes that are required for automobile painting and at the same time has devised methods that contribute to sustainable and resource-saving production. With the Eco+Paintshop from Dürr, energy consumption can be reduced by more than 30% compared to conventional plants.
The environmental relevance of our in-plant production is low overall; the focus at our production sites is on assembly processes with comparatively low energy consumption and waste. Many sites in Germany and the US implement environmental management systems certified according to ISO 14001. We review criteria such as environmental management and sustainability in the selection of our suppliers.
We have expanded our headquarter in Bietigheim-Bissingen into a campus for 2,000 employees. With “Campus Energy 21” Dürr has developed a pioneering energy supply concept that is characterized by sustainability in the use of resources and low emissions of CO2.
It includes the use of geothermal energy and shallow ground heat exchangers as well as process heat recovery. The energy efficiency of the office complex has been optimized with excellent insulation and a lighting system controlled via daylight sensors.
