x-light s aims your lights in exactly the right direction

x-light s is smart, lean, offers high performance without high levels of automation and presents itself as a flexible, attractively priced aiming and setting system for headlights and distance sensors. Like the well-established high end x-light variant, x-light s combines high performance image processing with Dürr’s extensive end of line process experience.
Instead of a test gantry, x-light s is based on a robust and virtually non-wearing precision guide column. The system is therefore suitable both for long term use and in the production of large numbers of vehicles under basic conditions. Only a 230V power point is required to make the system fully functional and, because the design omits all but real essentials, the unit can easily be moved from one place to another and set up again there within a few hours.
x-light s can be used not only for the measurement and alignment of dipped and full beam headlights and of fog lights but also to set driver assistance systems equipped with infrared distance sensors. A counterbalance integrated in the system’s column enables the height of the light collecting box to be adjusted smoothly, without the need for clamps, and offers ergonomic operating conditions. With a vertical travel distance range of 250 mm to 950 mm, measuring and setting can be carried out at all heights required. x-light s is equally suitable, therefore, for both passenger and commercial vehicles. The system’s high level of flexibility recommends it for use in CKD plants as well as in audit and rework areas. A second x-light s variant, equipped with a swiveling Z column, is available as a stand-alone unit. In conjunction with a line laser that records the vehicle’s axis of symmetry, the light collecting box can then make adjustments of ±10° in the direction of this axis of symmetry.
x-line automation software analyzes the data obtained from images taken by a CCD camera. A variety of proven measurement algorithms are available for this purpose, so online measurement is possible for all headlights in accordance with statutory regulations. x-line also displays all the setting values on the system’s monitor and a PC saves the data with MS Access.
Connection to wheel alignment machines - Dürr’s x-wheel or similar systems - is trouble free: all data collected – rear axle correction angles, for example - is sent via a defined interface to the headlight aiming system and is also taken into account in the calculation of x-light s measurement values.
