New Group company in Turkey

Dürr has been active in Turkey since 1969 with projects handled by Dürr in Germany, France Italy or Korea, depending on the home base of the auto manufacturer involved. A boom in vehicle exports has also boosted the Turkish auto industry. Last year manufacturers in Turkey produced almost a million vehicles and more than half of these were exported. There are already clear signs of a further increase, particularly in the commercial vehicle segment.  

On July 1 Dürr established its Group company, Dürr Systems Ltd. Sti at Istanbul, in order to provide OEMs and suppliers with optimum professional support for capacity increases. The new office is located on the Anatolian side of Istanbul – a metropolis that is home to millions. Travel links are good and all customers can be reached from here within three hours. It is a Service point handling Dürr paint, application, installation and environmental systems and products. Since establishment of the company several projects have already been carried out in Turkey by the team of five based there. The engineers were involved in the construction of a new top coat line at Fiat Tofas and in modifications to increase capacity at Ford Otosan. In addition the team co-ordinated the installation and commissioning of a filling plant at Oyak Renault, a project led by Dürr Somac GmbH of Stollberg (Germany). Dürr plans to employ more people in Turkey to ensure that the company is properly prepared and well set up to handle additional projects.

There has been strong economic growth in Turkey in recent years, from which the auto industry is also benefitting. Manufacturers and suppliers are increasing their production capacities considerably and the need for services for production plant and equipment is on the rise. Dürr has reacted to this increase in demand by establishing a new company in Turkey locating the Group even closer to customers.
