Speedily spotless: Cleaning attuned to production cycles
Dürr Ecoclean continues its industrial cleaning market drive with the launch of yet another world first product: With the advent of EcoCSpeed it is now possible, for the first time ever, to use non-halogenated hydrocarbons to clean complex work pieces at production cycle speed.
So far short cycle times and stringent cleanliness requirements have presented problems in using hydrocarbons for the inline serial cleaning of complex parts. Instead very sophisticated continuous plants based on aqueous cleaning solutions were necessary and the spray processes used were not always ideally suited to thorough cleaning of the parts involved. With its innovative EcoCSpeed cleaning system Dürr Ecoclean has now made it possible, for the first time ever, to clean complex work pieces, at production cycle speed, with non-halogenated hydrocarbons. The advantages of a short cycle can thus be brought, for example, to the cleaning not only of pumps, casings, ABS and common rail components but also of gear wheels, crankshafts and camshafts.
First of all flood washing and steam degreasing treatment stages ensure cleanliness of the highest standard. Work pieces are then vacuum-dried so that on leaving the plant they are completely dry and can be transferred immediately to the next production processing stage. A closed loop system with an evaporator is included to free the cleaning medium of all contaminants so that it can be reused. As the whole cleaning process is carried out in a vacuum there is no need for any special explosion proofing measures. Equipment, such as pumps and the distillation system, is run continuously so the lifecycle of the plant is extended considerably. All service relevant components are easily accessible. Standard features include the stainless steel material used in plant manufacture and highly efficient treatment technology. The basic EcoCSpeed model incorporates 5 process modules, with which a throughput of up to 90 parts per hour can be reached. A handling system loads the chambers of the plant in a staggered time pattern whilst still maintaining a constant cycle time of 40 seconds thus ensuring a continuous flow of material.
EcoCSpeed – Main advantages at a glance:
- Continuous flow of material through synchronization with the production cycle
- Vacuum process requiring no special explosion proofing measures
- Cleaning quality of the highest standard through the use of hydrocarbons
