Six stages to CPI culture.
Dürr Consulting is already a sucessful provider of project planning, advisory and management services. Now, with the addition of process optimization, an even more comprehensive approach is available to customers. Dürr Consulting has developed a systematic plan of action for Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI).
Continuous Performance Improvement is a generic approach applied not only to production but also to administration processes. CPI was developed so that improvement potential can be identifed and effectively utilized.
In contrast to programs that look at optimization in terms of single isolated aspects, Dürr Consulting’s CPI concept takes an individual approach and one that considers the situation as a whole. First of all, the processes applied by the company under evaluation are examined in detail and classified within a six stage model developed by Dürr. On this basis a strategy is found that gives proper consideration to the situation and is performance oriented. Different methods of optimization, such as value stream mapping exercises, team development and the introduction of key indicator systems, usually follow. Dürr Consulting remains on hand when these service products are introduced and during evaluation of the optimized processes. Through monitoring, the achievements resulting from utilization of CPI service products can be measured and quantified in a direct way - in terms ranging from a reduction in purchasing lead times to the introduction of meaningful key indicators.
