In July, following a two year period of planning and building work, Dürr moved to its new main business base. 1,500 employees are now working on innovative solutions for the paint finishing, final assembly and environmental engineering technology fields at the ”Dürr Campus” – a versatile technology and engineering complex located at Bietigheim-Bissingen (Germany).
The Dürr Campus is a modern, functional building complex offering short routes of communication and an open architecture. No unnecessary luxury is to be found here, efficiency is the key resource – from improved communication right through to the equally innovative and cost saving energy concept “Campus Energy 21”.
Dürr placed particular value on expansion of the Technology Center. Here precise trials are carried out in the interests of research and development and new processes can also be tried and tested, working in conjunction with customers. Dürr also oriented itself to the needs of its customers in the enlargement of its Training Center; additional booths have been made available, for example, for practical training on paint robots.
Relocation to the Campus meant vacation of the Dürr location that was no longer needed at Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. The land and premises there are already being utilized by neighbor Porsche. Dürr’s 900 Stuttgart employees all moved to the Dürr Campus, which lies only 15 kilometer north at the location, where Dürr’s Application Technology was already based.
Bringing together the activities previously divided between Stuttgart and Bietigheim has added to Dürr’s performance potential. It is something, from which customers, business partners and suppliers also benefit. The people they know are still their points of contact; e-mail addresses and telephone extension numbers remain unchanged.
