Dürr FAS to supply FAStplant® to Toyota

05/03/2005

Dürr Factory Assembly Systems (FAS) is to supply the new FAStplant® modular factory concept to Toyota's Valenciennes (France) facility.

The order covers the supply of pre-assembled and tested standard FAStplant® modules. These include incorporation throughout of the Twin Trolley System® (TTS), a conveyor system developed by Dürr. The TTS has vertically adjustable hangers that can be lowered and lifted to work and travel levels as required and is also equipped with MOVITRANS®, a non-contact power supply and data transfer system. The equipment also includes, of course, supply systems for all necessary utilities - compressed air, lighting and electricity.

The project is to be completed within a period of only three weeks in August of this year. The introduction of FAStplant® and its range of standard modules has made such a short time schedule possible. FAStplant® is the answer to modular yet tailor-made optimization of plant and equipment for final assembly.

Low investment costs and a universal 'box of bricks' concept coupled with the system's ability to be adapted smoothly to suit new vehicle models and integrated easily into new process stages make Dürr Factory Assembly Systems' FAStplant® so attractive that Toyota are following DaimlerChrysler's lead in choosing to utilize the advantages offered by this new approach to vehicle final assembly.
