New Dürr FAS marriage station for Volvo Cars
02/12/2007
Püttlingen, February 12, 2007 – Dürr Factory Assembly Systems (FAS) is supplying a new marriage station to Volvo Cars at Ghent. The installation can only be carried out during the works vacation period in July of this year as this is the only time of the year when the plant is not running production.
The new marriage station at Ghent is designed for flexibility and with a vehicle program including a wide variety of models in view. It will be possible to join together, at the marriage station and the new and existing bolting stations for front and rear axles, not only S60s and V70s but also new models currently being planned. Robot-assisted positioning of front and rear axle suspension struts during the marriage process is a special feature included here.
Dürr’s scope of supply also includes 23 new marriage pallets as well as the conveyor equipment to integrate the three new stations into the existing line. Dürr FAS will be able to draw here on the experience it gained during the integration of new versions of the S80/V70 at Volvo’s Gothenburg factory.
