Dürr to supply new final assembly equipment to Jaguar at Castle Bromwich

Dürr Factory Assembly Systems (FAS) is assisting Jaguar in the provision of a new Assembly & Test Facility at the Castle Bromwich factory.
The order covers the supply of a complete new conveyor system for the final assembly line, which includes the skid conveyor for transferring bodies from the paint shop. Dürr FAS is also providing a skillet conveyor system incorporating MOVITRANS® for non-contact power supply and data communication. An electric monorail system for door transport as well as a power & free conveyor are all included in the scope of supply. In the Off Track area of the new facility Dürr will be supplying a new slat conveyor which incorporates a water test, inspection and body protection facilities. In addition to delivery of the new equipment, Dürr is also responsible for dismantling an existing marriage station tug conveyor and wheel alignment m/c and reinstalling these in the new location.
The new line will be used for assembling the all new Jaguar X150 sports convertible & coupe.
The Dürr Group is one of the world's leading suppliers of production systems for the automotive industry. Provisional unaudited figures show that Dürr achieved sales of 2.132 million euros in fiscal 2004. Dürr will present its Annual Report with all 2004 figures on April 21, 2005.
