VW Award 2006

On June 29, 2006  Dürr Factory Assembly Systems (FAS) received as one of only 24 suppliers to do so the Volkswagen Group Award 2006. Dürr FAS received the award in the “Entrepreneurial Performance” category. Here Volkswagen looks at flexibility during new start-ups and innovation capabilities in terms of cost optimization and process improvements.

In the eyes of VW Dürr Factory Assembly Systems met these criteria very convincingly in the supply of a turnkey plant for final assembly of Passat B6 models at the Mosel factory. Expansion of the existing Golf line, also supplied by Dürr, to enable a mix of Passat and Golf models to be handled also formed part of the project that has been awarded. Dürr took VW’s maxim of ‘turning interfaces into invisible seams’ to heart in an exemplary way.
