Electrical and mechanical checks
Checks are made of all electrical and mechanical components within the plant in respect of wear, adjustment and functionality. A detailed overview of these mechanical and electrical checks can be found here. Checks of this kind should be carried out at least once every six months and they include preparation of a list of recommended new parts and/or necessary repairs. Each electrical/mechanical check is carried out in 5 stages.
Stage | Content |
1. System check | Check on all mechanical and electrical components (visual, acoustic, functional, period in use, maintenance log) |
2. Report | Preparation of a report on the system check together with a list of maintenance tasks. The report includes details of the work involved, spare parts required and a maintenance work schedule. The tasks outlined in the following stages are only carried out with the customer’s authorization. |
3. Maintenance work | The work outlined in the report is carried out as authorized by the customer. On completion the replaced area of the plant is cleaned and lubricated as part of a mechanical check. |
4. Final functionality test | Interfaces between plant sections are checked for proper fastening and connections into customer’s equipment. Adjustments are made for any movement and the system is re-aligned. If necessary, calibration is carried out and followed by a test run with production products. Standby services are provided for at least one shift. |
5. Finalization | The site is cleared, a final report is prepared and countersigned by the customer. |
