Optimizing production by universal data management with EcoEMOS

Stuttgart, April 11, 2008 – Lower costs yet higher quality – this really can be achieved with the EcoEMOS production control tool from Dürr. As a Manufacturing Execution System or MES EcoEMOS links control levels for all production plants with the higher control level for the plant as a whole (Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP). At the same time it eliminates cost and quality relevant interfaces as it is capable of managing data generated by all control units irrespective of manufacturer.

EcoEMOS is a product based on Dürr’s many years of experience in automotive production. During its development importance was given to the ability to process data from all PLCs, irrespective of manufacturer, and as a result simple operation and excellent functionality have been achieved. This independent system of data management can be used for all areas as well as in existing plants built by our competitors. It leads to greater transparency and thus to more efficient production and lower costs. EcoEMOS is designed as a scalable platform so that unlimited processing of information is possible.

Four standard software modules represent a concept designed to cover all requirements and to offer the possibility of later expansion. The EMOS.Web software included in the basic module, “Operating”, is used for visualization and Input/Output management of process and product parameters. The “Reporting” module generates customer specific data analyses for plant operation, maintenance and management. “Logistics” enables sequencing within production areas, vehicle tracking and order processing control while the fourth module, “Quality”, monitors and controls process and product quality.   

Using EMOS.Web the customer’s own personnel can extend or change screen overviews on a Powerpoint basis. In addition, data from all areas can be accessed at all times via Intranet or Internet, making reaction times as fast as possible.

As a web-based, open platform system Dürr’s EcoEMOS communicates easily with all system units. It can be used for all process in the automotive manufacturing chain and the automotive supply industry and is a solution ideally suited to increasing productivity.
