Leadership structure adapted to further growth

Dr. rer. pol. Wolfgang Baur, (46) will be appointed as Member of the Board of Management of the Dürr AG, Stuttgart, with responsibility for Finances/Controlling with effect from April 1, 1999. He will take over this sector of responsibility from Bernward Hiller (60), who has been in charge of the division at Board-level since 1996 in addition to his responsibilities for Per-sonnel/Administration. Baur was, to date, Member of the Board of Robert Bosch AG, Vienna as Commercial Director for Planning, Accounting and Controlling.

In Dürr Systems GmbH, Stuttgart, the biggest operation of Dürr AG, Dipl.-Kfm. Reinhart Wider (38) will be appointed Director of Finances/Controlling with effect from April 1, 1999. Wider joined Dürr Systems GmbH at the beginning of 1998, and was responsible for several special projects, among other things, also for acqui-sitions. Before joining Dürr he worked as a tax consultant and auditor.

Bernward Hiller will continue to hold responsibility as Board Member of Dürr AG for Personnel/Administration, for the Dürr Ecoclean Group, and in future also for the business unit Environmental Systems.

The restaffing measures within Dürr AG's Finances/Controlling sector and the opera-tions of the Dürr Systems Group are to be seen in the light of continuing growth. In the year 1998, which saw double digit growth rates in sales and earnings, as well as a variety of international acquisitions, the Group was also able to report a new record in incoming orders of over 2.1 bn DM. Worldwide, Dürr is one of the leading systems suppliers of Paint Finishing Systems, Industrial Cleaning Techniques and Environmental Systems, and sees further growth opportunities for the business year 1999.
