Dürr honored by General Motors as 2003 Supplier of the Year

Dürr AG received the Supplier of the Year Award from General Motors (GM). This is the fourth time the Dürr Group has received this renowned award. The world's largest automobile manufacturer paid tribute to Dürr's successful project execution of several significant paint systems in the United States, Canada, China and Australia.

"Dürr is representative of the type of company we want to grow with as we drive to be the best worldwide," said Bo Anderson, vice president, GM Worldwide Purchasing, Production Control & Logistics. "Dürr has a balanced focus on performance and behavior that supports GM's priorities. They are a role model for all of our suppliers."

It is our aim to support GM with proven technology that contributes to overall quality improvements and cost reduction," Stephan Rojahn, CEO of Dürr AG underlined at the awards show in Prague, Czech Republic. Dave Meynell, President of Dürr in North America said: "The bundling of several major paint systems from General Motors in North America provided GM with many benefits and is a unique opportunity and challenge for Dürr. We appreciate today's award, and see it as an acknowledgement of our efforts and as a token of GM's continued confidence."

The GM Supplier of the Year Award began as a global program in 1992. Award-winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics, who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price.

The Dürr Group is one of the world's leading suppliers of production systems and manufacturing support services for the automotive industry. Preliminary figures indicate that in fiscal 2003 Dürr and its staff of around 13,000 achieved sales of over 2.2 billion euros. Final figures for 2003 will be presented on April 29.
