Dürr wins several awards in Asia

Dürr's power to innovate and ability to perform are also held in high esteem by Asia's expanding automotive industry. In January, Dürr received three coveted supplier awards from Hyundai-KIA, Shanghai General Motors, and JAC.

Hyundai-KIA has given Dürr its Distinguished Service Award. Dürr Korea Ltd. is the recipient. The automaker has thus recognized Dürr's performance in connection with several projects in the past year. Among other things, Dürr completed a turnkey paint shop for Hyundai at its plant in Alabama.

Shanghai General Motors (SGM) has now honored Dürr as a top supplier for the third consecutive time. With the Excellent Supplier Award 2005, the joint venture has especially recognized Dürr's performance in building a turnkey paint shop for the new SGM plant in the Jingqiao South district of Shanghai. In connection with this project, Dürr supplied technologies for the use of environmentally safe water-based paint for the first time in China.

Dürr has received the Technology Innovation Award 2005 from Chinese automaker JAC. In Hefei, which is located about 700 kilometers northwest of Shanghai, JAC produces buses, trucks, and a minivan model. Dürr has supplied, among other things, a RoDip facility for pretreatment and dip-painting, several painting robots, and drying technology.

According to Ralf Dieter, Chairman of Dürr's Board of Management, "The awards are the achievement of all employees who participated in the collaboration with Hyundai-KIA, SGM, and JAC. We are going to strengthen our position further in the Asian growth markets in order to be able to expand business with the automotive industry there."
