x-wheel d „on track“ – Innovation presented and introduced in the market successfully
On the Testing Expo Dürr Assembly Products shows, beside a part exhibit, a mobile measurement sensor x-3Dprofile as well as a de-tailed film showing the application of the x-wheel d and the above mentioned advantages.
The innovative x-wheel d concept was presented for the first time in 2010 as an idea sketch and had been developed and introduced in the market successfully.
The laser wheel aligner x-wheel d, developed by Dürr Assembly Products, uses the measurement sensors x-3Dprofile and allows high-precision, repeatable measurement of toe and camber angles – even under difficult lighting conditions.
Therefore, it can be guaranteed that the vehicle drives straight on, when the steering wheel position is exactly horizontal, tire wear is reduced. Functionality, precision and workmanship of the x-wheel d correspond to a complex system test stand.
The range of cycle times of the x-wheel d is about six minutes. Due to the attractive price and the high flexibility, the test rig is absolutely suitable for vehicle productions with high complexity and minor numbers of pieces. Further fields of application can be found in the CKD-manufacture and rework areas.
First machines were already put into operation in a development center of Maruti Suzuki in India as well as for the production of the Mercedes-Benz G-class in the manufacture of Magna-Steyr.
The positive experiences with the delivered stands as well as numerous further inquiries acknowledge the necessity of precise and repeatable measurements, also in the low-volume range.
