Dürr to Join International Federation of Robotics

Bietigheim-Bissingen, August 07, 2008 – Dürr, manufacturer of painting robots, will become partner of the International Federation of Robotics established in 1987, the robot organizations with members and partners from more than 15 countries.
The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) was founded in 1987 as a non-profit technical organization in connection with the 17th International Symposium on Robotics (ISR) of robotics organizations from more than 15 countries.
The objective of the IFR is the support of research & development, applications and promotion of international cooperations on the entire field of robotics technology. The IFR is supposed to support and strengthen the robot industry worldwide, protect their business interests, create a public consciousness for robotics technology and deal with other relevant matters such as the assessment and explanation of data of their members.
The member structure of the IFR plans one industrial association, R&D institutes, universities, research centres and partner manufacturers, integrators, users per country. The IFR office is resident at the VDMA in Frankfurt.
