FAST Initiative: Volkswagen Group selects Dürr as strategic partner
Bietigheim-Bissingen, September 3, 2015 – The Volkswagen Group has selected Dürr as a strategic partner in the field of surface technology for its FAST supplier initiative. The newly created initiative is targeted at selected suppliers of the Volkswagen Group and at intensifying the level of exchange and cooperation with them.
FAST is intended to make innovations faster and more efficient to develop for Volkswagen. To this end, the partners are integrated into innovation projects of the Volkswagen Group at an early stage. Volkswagen also plans to cooperate closely with its FAST partners in globalizing its brands.
FAST stands for “Future Automotive Supply Tracks”. Among the participating suppliers, Dürr is the only provider of paint technology. The selection of FAST partners relied for guidance on the innovative power, global strategy and target achievement of suppliers in their past collaboration with Volkswagen.

Business with automobile manufacturers and their suppliers accounts for approximately 60% of Dürr's sales. Other market segments include, for example, the mechanical engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical industries and – since the takeover of HOMAG Group AG in October 2014 – the woodworking industry. - Paint and Final Assembly Systems: paint shops and final assembly systems for the automotive industry
- Application Technology: robot technologies for the automatic application of paint as well as sealants and adhesives
- Measuring and Process Systems: balancing and cleaning systems as well as testing and filling technology
- Clean Technology Systems: exhaust-air purification systems and energy-efficiency technology
- Woodworking Machinery and Systems: machinery and systems for the woodworking industry
