The Jincheng Mining Group has commissioned Dürr to supply a turnkey coal washing plant and two Schenck in-motion train loading systems for washed coal worth altogether about EUR 17 million. The plants are to go into operation in a mining works in the Zhouzhuang region of southern China in July 2005.

The coal washing plant at the Zhouzhuang mining works will remove impurities and sulfur from about ten million tons of raw coal annually. Washed coal emits less pollution when burned and is thus more environmentally sound. That is of great importance particularly in view of severe air pollution in China due to sulfur dioxide emissions.

Founded at the end of 2002, Schenck (Tianjin) Mineral Systems Co. Ltd. operates in China with about 300 employees in the growing market of raw material processing and energy production. The company belongs to the Measuring Systems business unit of the Dürr Group. Dürr is one of the world's leading providers of production systems and manufacturing support services for the automotive industry. In 2003, Dürr achieved sales of about EUR 2.3 billion with about 12,750 employees.
