Duties:
- Responsible for maintaining an expert level of product knowledge of applications and listening to, understanding, and conveying customer requirements; responsible for engineered technical deliverables to pre-order projects; review customer technical specifications and prepare the system description and mark-ups; serve as technical contact for customers relating to warranty or field issues; ensure engineering requirements are prepared and delivered to the customer; responsible for maintaining professional business relationships; provide technical support for customer visits, prepare technical presentations, and be the lead engineering representative for preparing quotes, drawings, and models; lead product design efforts to meet specific customer requirements, write technical documentation relevant to specific projects, and check fabrication drawings; define the mechanical design of the product and system by providing concept models and mark-ups to the design department; utilize AutoCAD, Salesforce, SolidWorks, and CATIA to perform duties; use appropriate design tools, perform sizing and application functions, and generate dimensional fabrication drawings for manufacturing; work closely with the Project Manager to align deliverables, the overall project schedule, and requirements; provide application and sizing information to the sales department; identify customers’ needs and sales opportunities for future growth; and provide technical assistance in the areas of product application, sizing, selection, and design to sales personnel as required.
- Location: Southfield, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;
- Salary: $100,000 per year;
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as an Aerodynamic and Thermal Systems Engineer, as a Mechanical Design Engineer, as a PV Designer, or in a related occupation;
Other Requirements: Experience must include six (6) months’ use of all the following: AutoCAD, Salesforce, SolidWorks, and CATIA.
