Process capable alignment of driver assistance systems in the production of commercial vehicles.

Within the last 5 year, besides the classic test stands (wheel alignment stand, headlamp aiming system and roll/brake/ABS test stand) a new test stand (see Fig. 1 a,b) has been established in the end-of-line testing area of vehicle production especially for all driver assistance systems integrated in the vehicle (short: DAS systems).

The DAS systems which have to be adjusted are e.g. the distance sensor, the lane departure warning, lane change assistant, side cameras and rear view camera. With these DAS systems a wide spectrum of technologies to detect the environment is being applied, such as radar sensors, laser sensors and infrared sensors as well as image processing.
