Xcellence in a new shape

Harmonized portfolio for environmental technology

With its Clean Technology Systems (CTS) division, Dürr takes responsibility for the environment. Over the last few years, Dürr’s portfolio in environmental technology has expanded continuously, for example through the integration of Megtec and its air pollution control solutions. Dürr is proud of the ability to offer a wide range of products that protect the environment from hazardous substances and reduce the carbon footprint of its customers. To present the products in a unified and easily understandable way, Dürr has harmonized its range of air pollution control technologies.

Industrialization brought technological advances and life is simply not imaginable without these achievements. However, for a long time there was no consideration given to the environment. Meanwhile everybody knows how fragile our planet is and that every effort to protect the earth – which also means the future of the human race – is worth it. Dürr’s air pollution control products provide solutions for industrial processes that produce dust and particulate matter, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). With these products, it is possible to fulfill the legal requirements for environmental protection on a global basis.

Rearrangement of brand architecture

In the past, Dürr has maintained a single brand strategy for all exhaust gas and air pollution control products, named Ecopure®. Recently, the merger with Megtec and the expansion of the product portfolio has necessitated an evaluation of the brand strategy to present the extensive product portfolio more comprehensively. For the future, the unified brand architecture will be characterized by a prefix highlighting the associated technology and is supplemented by .X as a reoccurring element which underlines the eXcellent eXhaust air purification products.

Dr. Daniel Schmitt, President & CEO, Clean Technology Systems, Dürr Systems AG

Dürr is the world’s leading supplier of air pollution control technology. With our unified product portfolio and product brands, we once again underline our leadership in the market. The new brand architecture of our products will further enhance the visibility of our wide-ranging offerings in environmental technology brought to our customers by Dürr and Dürr Megtec.

Effective July 1, 2021, Ken Zak has taken over as head of the Clean Technology Systems division from Dr. Daniel Schmitt. You can find more information in our press release.

There is a vast benefit on structuring and simplifying the names for a wide product range in CTS products. Dürr is very glad to come up with an eXcellent portfolio.

Air pollution control product portfolio grouped in five clusters

In order to make it easier for our customers to identify the required technology and respective products for their individual requirements, we structured our product portfolio into five clusters:

Oxi.X – Oxidizers

Oxidizers use thermal processes to eliminate pollutants from the exhaust air. This technology is applicable for a wide range of industries and different types of pollutants. Depending on the industrial process, customers may choose one of the following principles:

  • Regenerative Thermal Oxidation
  • Recuperative Thermal Oxidation
  • Direct-fired Thermal Oxidation

Dürr offers more than 10 different oxidation technologies. This enables us to meet any challenges, be they industry-specific or country-dependent.

All Dürr products in this category are named → Oxi.X.

Part.X – Particulate Control

Particulate emissions control technologies function by separating the pollutants from the exhaust air using the physical properties of the substances. To clean industrial gases of fine particulate matter, acid mists and aerosols, the established technologies by Dürr are e. g. wet and dry electrostatic precipitators as well as venturi scrubbers. Dürr’s particulate control products are grouped under the name → Part.X.

Sorpt.X – Sorptive Processes & Solvent Recovery

Dürr offers proven solutions for emissions control utilizing both absorption and adsorption technologies.
Adsorption is used for concentrating the pollutants – as a pre-step for efficient removal from the exhaust air.
In addition, Dürr offers carbon adsorption systems that remove, recover and purify solvents from process exhaust air streams.
Absorption processes remove pollutants from the exhaust air. This is reflected by the scrubber technology like wet scrubbers and spray dry absorbers.
→ Sorpt.X represents all air pollution control systems that use absorptive and adsorptive methods or solvent recovery.

Cat.X Catalytic Processes

Catalytic air pollution control systems always involve the use of a catalyst to eliminate pollutants. The simple reason: The catalyst reduces the energy required to achieve a chemical reaction. Dürr uses catalysts for oxidation processes as well as for reduction processes.
This product group is named → Cat.X.

Service.X

Safe, reliable and efficient operation of air pollution control systems is ensured by Dürr’s service experts. As a leader in environmental technologies, Dürr and its aftermarket group services its large installed base and extends this extensive know-how to customers outside our installed base. Digital service offerings as well as the availability of suitable spare parts are two important pillars. With its global footprint, the company ensures fast and competent service response and support in multiple languages. → Service.X groups all the service offerings throughout the entire air pollution control system life cycle.
