X.Cellify PF Electrolyte filling

X.Cellify PF electrolyte filling systems for battery cells and supercapacitors enable a new, single-stage filling process for efficient, fast, and clean filling of electrolyte. As the world's leading manufacturer of filling systems for liquids and gases in automotive production, Dürr's subsidiary Dürr Somac® GmbH has developed its own process for electrolyte filling.

Fast and precise with direct electrolyte filling

The many years of process and media expertise in vacuum pressure filling of flammable, explosive, hygroscopic, crystallizing, and viscous media is applied to the demanding mixture of electrolytes. The process is used for cylindrical and prismatic hardcase cells with a defined filling opening and is characterized by single-stage, direct, and parallel high-pressure filling for multiple cells.

Direct high-pressure filling does not require a conventional pre-filled cup system with nitrogen pressurization. The filling pressure reaches up to 30 bar, two to three times the current industry standard, resulting in shorter filling process times and downstream wetting. Despite the high pressure levels, the filling process is gentle on the cell housing and interior thanks to the specially developed system design. The high-precision, proprietary dosing system also enables maximum filling accuracy and optimal vacuum performance. A special electrolyte pretreatment to remove gases dissolved in the electrolyte supports the technology and reduces contamination of the cell.

Long lifetime with easy cleaning and maintenance

The system availability of X.Cellify PF is designed for maximum component durability and optimum maintainability. A special rinsing concept also enables simple, automatic cleaning of the system technology at the touch of a button.

X.Cellify electrolyte filling systems are flexibly adjustable for different cell sizes and scalable from pilot to gigafactory production. Upstream and downstream processes such as hipot testing, weighing, cleaning, pin insertion, traceability, or cell handling can be carried out as a complete package, either manually or automatically, to meet customer-specific requirements.

Customer specific filling machines from pilot scale to giga factory

Our systems for electrolyte filling are flexibly adjustable to different cell sizes and scalable from pilot to giga manufacturing. Preliminary and subsequent processes like hipot test, weighing, cleaning, pin insertion traceability or cell handling can be performed manually or automatically suited to customer specific requirements.

Dürr Somac also offers measurement and testing technology, application consulting and a full service handled by our specialists in Germany and at our locations worldwide. For our customers, we are a reliable partner with high safety awareness for people, machines and the environment.
