Your Tasks:
- Hybrid role in Southfield, MI
- Responsible for generating and managing concepts, mechanical sketches, and drawings required to effectively fabricate, install and/or commission various types of paint finishing equipment
- Utilize a computer aided design (CAD) system to create drawings - 2D, 3D
- Interpret schematics to develop complete system designs
- Travel to local customer sites and participate in field measurements
- Maintain project schedules
- Effectively communicate and interact with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers and customers
- Control and document the distribution and archiving of drawings and documents
- Understand, diagnose, and solve real or potential design problems
- Attend and contribute to design review meetings
- Interpret mechanical drawings
- Travel approximately 25%
Your Skills:
- Associate Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related field preferred
- 5 or more years of experience
- Familiar with mechanical layout, detail drawings, and basic piping preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations
- Strong skills in math and geometry
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD 2D, 3D, ReCap, Revit, Navisworks, Micostation a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
- Good time management skills
- Good organizational skills

- Good communication skills with co-workers, suppliers, and customers
- Able to work well independently and in a team environment
