Conveyor Engineer – Customer Support Specialist

The Conveyor Mechanical Engineer – Service will provide hands on project engineering, management for modification projects and production assistance on site, primarily related to conveyor equipment and systems. This may include combinations of conveyor mechanical and electrical equipment and their relation with paint finishing process equipment and systems

Your Tasks:

  • Perform all tasks, and document / maintain records, in compliance with the company Business Operating System procedures
  • Work as a team to develop and execute service related and facility modification solutions
  • Interpret project specifications, drawings and schematics to develop complete system designs
  • Support and assist installation and production on site, also during commissioning, start-up, ramp-up and full production phases
  • Supervision of subcontract
  • Perform site verification and field checking as required
  • Attend customer meetings to understand project requirements
  • Effectively communicate and interact with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers and customers
  • Availability to travel when necessary and stay out of the base office during site activities where the project(s) is/are located (USA)
  • Travel approximately 50%

Your Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
  • Two or more years of experience in an engineering operations field (e.g. project engineering, design, project management, site supervision)
  • A comprehensive knowledge of industrial conveyor, process plant equipment and system integration, preferably within the paint finishing industry
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good time management skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Good communication skills with co-workers, suppliers, and customers
  • Able to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Self-starter capable of executing projects and solving problems in a diplomatic and professional manner
  • Adaptable to change in a learning environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to learn and utilize Microsoft Visio and Solidworks
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary

Physical Demands

While performing duties of job employee will occasionally be required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands and arms and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
