Your Tasks

  • Implement, improve, and modify H&S Management System (policy/standard/procedures, etc.) and programs to manage risk effectively.
  • Monitor developments in H&S legislation in South Korea. Advise company staff on changes and actions to ensure compliance across the country.
  • Communicate H&S performance to management (business divisions, country, corporate) regularly and as required.
  • Develop and implement H&S-related programs to effectively manage risks from company activities, services, and H&S performance.
  • Work with H&E manager and business divisions to develop the H&S strategy for the country and drive H&S programs to enable compliance and sharing of best practices for continual improvement.
  • To manage Health & Safety systems on a large-scale construction project and assist the Project Manager with implementing H&S procedures carried out on-site.
  • To ensure that works are carried out following legal, company requirements, and the main contractor’s contracted scope.
  • To conduct and ensure appropriate checks of training and competence are carried out for both site staff and sub-contractors.
  • Put in place measures to track performance against objectives using both leading and lagging indicators.
  • Response to strengthened local regulation; OSHA(산업안전보건법),SAPA(중대재해처벌법), etc.

Your Skills

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental management, or occupational safety management
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in a construction safety role, particularly on large-scale construction projects such as plant construction, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of H&S-related acts, standards, and regulations for South Korea and international H&S standards.
  • A person should have a certification in areas of environment & safety management “산업안전기사 or 건설안전기사.”
  • Heath & Safety Audit, qualifications and experience of ISO system are an advantage, e.g. ISO45001 (Health & Safety Management System), etc.
  • Strong understanding of working practices and safety on projects, including risk assessments, employee and contractor training, and safety auditing
  • Direct experience in dealing with regulatory agencies and compliance officers preferred.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral preferred.
  • Proactive and fast learner, excellent communication skills, and good team worker.
  • Good listeners, focus on teamwork, and coordination role between other departments
  • Problem-solving skills and should be willing to develop new system, process and procedure
